Duluth Women's 10 Mile

Sat September 28, 2024 Duluth, MN 55802 US

Run

Description

The Duluth Women’s 10 Mile is an awe-inspiring experience that brings women together to run ten incredible miles from the skyline to shoreline. This run was created to empower women, and to cheer them on in a race where they are celebrated.
The sunrise start high on Hawk Ridge provides expansive Lake Superior views with breathtaking colors and energy. The point-to-point course starts on Skyline Parkway and traverses the hillside before descending Seven Bridges Road where you'll "Bridge the Gap" on the beautiful descent that winds across the bridges before arriving at the Lake Superior shoreline. The second half of the course takes you along the Lakewalk to the finish in Leif Erickson Park near downtown Duluth.
“Bridging the Gap” is a metaphor for the gap women face. It’s a pay gap. It’s an accessibility gap. It’s many other gaps, and these gaps have consequences. This event is an opportunity to Bridge the Gap. Together with the Entrepreneur Fund (501c3) and the Women’s Business Alliance we’ve created the Bridging the Gap Fund. All donations and funds raised from this event go to the fund and provide women with resources to build and grow sustainable businesses.

Course, Water Stations & Time Cut-Off: Know Your Way- Reach Your Goals!

Course Description

Our race course is a journey through some of Duluth’s most breathtaking landscapes, creating an run that’s as captivating as it is challenging. It all begins at Hawk Ridge, perched high above Lake Superior, where the air is crisp and the views stretch for miles. As you set off on Skyline Parkway, one of Duluth’s most iconic roadways, you’ll wind along the hillside with the lake as your constant companion.
The course then leads you to the descent down Seven Bridges Road, where each turn brings you closer to the sound of rushing water and the sight of the iconic bridges spanning Amity Creek. This is where you’ll "Bridge the Gap," crossing these timeless structures as you transition from the heights of the hillside to the shores of Lake Superior.
From here, the journey continues along the Lakewalk, where the vast expanse of the lake guides you towards downtown Duluth. The energy builds as you approach the finish line, the field of runners and our vibrant community welcoming you with open arms.
